Jan Mayen POIs - Brielletårnet & Kvalrossen Bay

The tiny mountain Kvalrossen is located on the north side of the island and is just a hundred meters high and contrasts with the long northern beach. Nevertheless, the most remarkable point is not its altitude but the presence of a vertical rocky peak called "Brielletårnet" (the tower of Brielle) because of its similarity with a tower of the Dutch city of Brielle.

This name is a legacy of the Dutch whalers who established Jan Mayen as a base camp in the summer of the 17th century. In any case, it is a rather remarkable natural monument that the interpolation of the elevation data tends to erase from the scenery.

As for Eggoya, I flattened the terrain around Kvalrossen and replaced it with a 3D model. Preliminary tests show that it fits well to the relief of the scenery. It remains only to refine and texture it.
